Just testing out my ability to post from my BlackBerry, if I choose to do so while I'm away. Haven't made any decisions, although it's generally best for me to unplug completely when I'm on vacation.

Many thanks to all who came out for last night's Clear Liquor Tweetup at Double Crown -- a very successful follow-up to our Brown Liquor Tweetup at Char No. 4 a few weeks back. At our peak capacity, we probably had over a dozen people, many of whom hadn't met previously, and one attendee from as far as Canada. All and all, a very impressive turnout. It was a pleasure meeting/seeing all of you (let's see who I can remember): @livethelushlife, @cocktailspirit, @halw, @lincolnwrites, @girluninterrupt, @ekeynyc, @jonathanmoxey, @shotsandcuts, @MarianaCardier, @arjunbasu, @devintrix, @jeneanchapman, @pasakorn. A toast to the power of Twitter!! And Gin, of course. Thanks also to the team at Double Crown for their hospitality.

Why does it seem like everyone I know has suddenly joined Facebook within the past week and a half? Talk about your viral marketing . . .
Yesterday I noticed that my cell phone was off, which was weird, because I didn't remember turning it off. I turned it back on and it immediately went off again. I had just charged it before work, so there was no reason for it to run out that quickly, I thought. Until I thought about it some more -- that phone is over two years old and I understand that, after some point, rechargeable batteries lose their ability to hold a charge (like my antique iPod). Sigh -- guess it's time for a phone upgrade. I've got Verizon -- any recommendations?

I think she's on to something: "I started online dating at age 35, hoping to meet a few suitors in my new city. But all I met were frantic older men who were more concerned with the state of my womb than with wooing me." Note to men over the age of 50: you are not appropriate dating material for me. Period.
It's the debut of the new camera! I took it to Morandi the other night. Didn't take very many pictures, as I only bought the 1G card last night. Unfortunately, this burrata was ice cold and we had to keep it at the table for a while before it got remotely oozy. See the rest on Flickr.

I remember when Mom and Stephen offered to buy me a digital camera in 2003; at the time, I couldn't imagine that I'd use it all that much. I used my regular camera often, and just got the photos put on CD's when they were developed, which seemed fine. Now I rarely go anywhere without it (very bloggery/dorky of me, I know). Thanks again for getting me hooked!
