Mapquest
My friend Sergio once described dating as a single man in his 30's in New York City like "eating at a buffet." Via Derek, this singles map of the US in the Boston Globe illustrates that in New York, there are well over 200,000 more single women than single men. No wonder then, for me, as a single woman dating in her 30's, it feels less like eating at a buffet and more like being a vegetarian at a pig roast. Or something. Mmm . . . pig roast.

What the Singles Map doesn't mention, is that on the West Coast, and particularly in the SF area, the majority fo the male popluation is gay. (and possibly this is true of the other largely male-majority populated areas as well) As a single woman, this would obviously NOT be the place to meet one's SO, even with the numerical odds.

We are still on the man issue with you. Haven't been to this blog in a bit. You might want to turn to the ladies...there are many pretty lesbians in the city.

Yes, they don't seem to account for things like sexual orientation or age appropriateness.
Ah, Joaquin -- somehow I knew that you'd chime in on this one! And clearly you haven't been here in a while or you would have recognized me at karaoke last Saturday night. They kept announcing my name. You must have been too busy hitting on my friend Jenn. . .
and thanks, Lauren!

Mmmmm Pig... You could always take the Pig Butchering class at Brooklyn Kitchen.... https://www.thebrooklynkitchen.com/classes.html
Walking away with 6lbs of meat is guaranteed, but I'd also love to meet the men that are going to take it too!!!

Odd...I don't remember hitting on anyone named Jenn. Sorry. Last Saturday I didn't do Karaoke. The Saturday before that either. Sorry. Us Latins all look alike. What bar....I'm sitting here thinking and I can't recall Sat. Karaoke for the life of me. Maybe like three weeks ago? Then it might be the young lady who worked at Google...because the other girl was rather young. Sorry I didn't take notice of you at the time...post-UCLA booze win and the Tournament is when I take up boozing...I tend to only drink otherwise.
