. . . but not for any of the reasons that some of you (especially those who know me well) might be thinking. Have you checked out the commentary on my Gothamist Food post?! It has actually been a very interesting discussion, despite the personal attacks. Thanks to those of you who have lent your voices in support of my honor, or stupidity, or whatever it is.

I think the obvious follow-up is that you now have to find the absolute cheapest restaurant in town for a review.
Burger Joint was a good start, admittedly. :)

Fried Dumpling on Mosco Street -- 5 dumplings for $1. Not exactly a restaurant, though.

Wow, that was intense. Who knew people could get so upset about a meal? You shouldn't worry about what they say. For a foodie I think it was money well spent.

I agree with Ellen, for a once in a lifetime experience you've got to enjoy it and food is something you clearly love!
I thought you got some unnecessary comments, I am sure they would spend more on certain things that are more important in their life that yours.
Personally my love at the moment is to travel... would love to get back to the big apple after my trip last November, but Japan is calling me :)

Wow--amazing discussion! I especially enjoyed L'Emmerdeur's comments! Some of the attack comments reminded me of my mother's kvetching when I was a kid about the starving children in Europe who obviously would expire if I didn't finish my grilled cheese sandwich. I do think those prices are insane but the truth is I'm just seething with jealousy that I can't eat there and I love getting the vicarious experience, especially the photos! Thanks, Laren! I have nothing but respect for foodies...

You're welcome. I have gotten very nice comments and emails from people who were glad that I shared my experience, but it certainly was an interesting discussion!
